People generally tend to show different preference when it comes to choices. Despite that many people prefer outdoor activities as an effective way for relaxation, I believe relaxing through watching a movie or reading a book would be a better option.
First of all, TV-viewing and book-reading offer ready convenience which can rarely be offered by physical exercises. City people nowadays are confronted with many deadlines and challenging tasks, therefore are often exhausted when they get home. The necessity of some leisure time is intensified by city-dwellers’ fast-paced life. Considering the fact that most physical exercises are better conducted outdoors and require exercises to suit up and get dressed, it seems apparent that watching TV is less troublesome. Whenever home-stayers feel tired and need a refresher, they can easily resort to TVs or books to get relaxed by simply picking up the remote control or opening a book.
What’s more, movies and books can be far more entertaining that physical exercises. Sports-lovers often claim that outdoor exercises gets them closer to the beautiful natural scenes, however, TVs and books have much to offer. Not only can you see beautiful scenery of an exotic mountain or lake in the movies, you will also find the stories and plots full of twists and turns quite intriguing. A breath-taking detective movie, a laughter-filled comedy novel or a romantic love story can be a key to an unknown world many with brand-new experiences either exciting or stress-relieving.
Admittedly, physical activities do alleviate people’s pressure and can help us relax to some extent. Their potential risks must also be taken into consideration also since occasional injuries and accidents can happen from time to time.
In light of the abovementioned reasons, I prefer reading a book or watching a movie as a more suitable approach to get relaxed.
