Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: Since the world has changed so much in the past fifty years, advice our grandparents can give us is not useful.
First of all, despite the rapidly-changing society, there are still many things that remain unchanged that can be passed down from the older generation to the younger one. A case in point is the theoretical knowledge in linguistics. No matter how many new words have been coined and newly-included into the dictionary, the grammatical rules of a certain language are unlikely to undergo drastic changes with the passage of the time. Therefore, advices concerning these subjects from the older generation are worth listening to.
