神话传说中的“嫦娥奔月”变成了现实。“嫦娥一号”(Chang’e I)卫星探月的顺利是继发射地球卫星、突破载人航天技术之后，我国空间科学和技术发展史上第三个里程碑。“嫦娥一号”卫星得名于中国神话传说中家喻户晓的人物“嫦娥”——她吃下长生不老药后化作仙女，从地球升到了月球上。目睹了“嫦娥一号”的升空，很多人（93.4%的受访者）希望有朝一日也能到月球上看看：“这次卫星探月不仅仅是和月亮打个招呼这么简单，也许以后我们就可以派些人给嫦娥姐姐做伴了”。”（The satellite launch means much more than just saying 'hello' to the moon.
