三月口译考试即将来临，同学们在备考阶段最有效的学习提高方式无疑是进一步熟悉真题。就中级口译听力考试而言，从题型上分为Spot dictation, Statements, Talks and Conversations和Listening Translation。不少同学在练习时，觉得不知哪些是核心词汇，该如何整理。我们就从Statements题型中，来看一下Career话题的词汇。

 

例如，以下均是从往年真题中的Statements:

 

[0603 1] Up to now, none of the candidates who applied for the position has the required credentials. We’d better let our ad in the Help-Wanted Section run for more weeks.

在练习statements时，同学们往往“做过就放”，往往错漏了其中的核心词汇。Candidate表示候选人，同义词汇如applicant/interviewee，可以一起记忆。Position表示职位，和post/appointment一起记忆。在这次0909的句子听译的第二句：

We had only expected around 20 people to apply for that post, but twice as many showed up, so we had to work overnight for the arrangement of interviews.

同样出现apply for，表示申请职位，同样是面试场景。因而，对真题statements和sentence translation出现的类似场景，可整理学习，定有不少收获。
