这一句不能翻作：真是你的耻辱！若要表达此意，应该说：Shame on you!
在英语里，有不少常用词语，他们的含义往往不是其字面意思，对于这类词语，我们要加倍注意。在学习过程中，要注意积累，各个击破！

他是一个爱管闲事的人。

现在几点了？
Give me some sweet water.
给我一点饮用水。
His words made my hair stand on end.
他的话使我毛骨悚然。
Tell that to the marines.
我不相信。
Let’s compare notes.
让我们交换一下意见吧。
--‘His brother has got the sack.’ --‘You don’t say.’
“他的兄弟被开除了。” “不会吧！”
His brother doesn’t want to do that.
他兄弟不应该这么做。
That guy really knew a thing or two.
那个家伙是个见多识广的人。
They thought that they should solve the problem for the world.
他们认为，他们无论如何也得解决这个问题。
To tell the truth, I am quite at fault.
老实说，我简直一头雾水，不知所云。
Out of sight, out of mind.
人走茶凉。（不是“眼不见，心不烦”）
John could not help feeling intoxicated at the thought that his newly-wed wife was expecting.
一想到他的妻子以临近产期就欣喜若狂。
