此句不可翻译为：真奇怪，你应该同意他们的看法。通常，should一般作为情态动词和助动词使用。用作情态动词时，其义为“应该”，三种人称通用。如：I (you or he) should go there today. 用作助动词时，是shall的过去时。如：I asked him where we should go next week. 可是，在上面的题例中，should既不是情态动词，也不是助动词，而是词汇意义大为减弱的虚拟语气动词，一般用在表示惊讶、失望、不满、愤怒、欢乐等具有情感色彩的句子里。这时候，我们就不能把它译为“应该”，译文需视具体场合而定。
下面请看例子：
I’m surprised that Mr. Li should be absent.
真奇怪，李先生竟然会缺席。
I can hardly believe that she should be sick.
我简直不能相信她竟生起病来。
Why should the door be locked?
这个门怎么会锁上的？
It is strange that you should think so!
真奇怪，你竟然会这么想。
Why should they be so late tonight?
今天晚上他们为什么会来得那么迟？
How should I know?
我怎么会知道呢？
I regret that things should have come to such a pass!
我感到遗憾，事情竟然会发展到这个地步！
What a dangerous fellow that he should do such a thing!
他竟然会做出这种事情，多危险的家伙呀！
Why should you poke your nose into our affairs?
你为何干涉我们的事务？
Do you think it’s normal that John should be so slow in learning English?
约翰学英语那么迟钝，你认为正常吗？
在以上各例句中，should在这些句子中都不作“应该”解，因为它是虚拟语气动词，不是情态动词。
此句翻译为：真奇怪，你竟然会同意他们的看法。
