4. The cause of one’s death is an indictor of one’s wealth. High income countries spend 55 billion dollars annually on medical research, yet only a fraction of this devoted to solving the problems of the poor.

人们死亡的原因是其财富的一个标志。高收入国家每年用于医学研究上的费用为５５０亿美元，其中仅仅一小部分用于解决穷人的问题。

解析：又出现大数字的口译，“55 b”是多少钱呢？词组“be devoted to”解释为“被用于”。
