完型填空作为一项综合考察考生语言基本功的一类题目,在各类考试中(中考,高考,四六级,雅思)等考试中屡见不鲜。细分一下,大致可分为选择类,和非选择类(首字母填空,直接填词)两种。但从总体情况来看,却不尽人如意——特别在中高考重要考试中。笔者曾问过很多学生,他们说,完型难啊,读了半天不知道讲啥;而且有时候读懂了,却选不对;有时候一道题目不确定,就会导致几道题目连环出错。


针对种种情况,笔者潜心研究, 发现完形相对于单独以单句出现的语法,词汇题目,重点放在了语法词汇,在篇章中的理解与运用,还重点考察了考生是否对文章的行文思路,逻辑的把握。

解题思路和出题特点:
1 迅速略读全文,大致了解文章主题。
2 阅读每一段,试图理解每段的中心意思,找出主题句和支持句。包括段落的发展情况。例子与例子之间的关系,例如是层层深入, 还是利用反证,或者是两个例子之间是平行的关系。
同时请一定记得例子一定是位主题句服务的,围绕主题句展开的。
除了比较段落内部关系,请别忽视段落与段落之间的联系,平行,因果, 层层深入? 还是按照时间,空间发展的?
3 做题时,不要盲目, 请瞻前顾后,适当把视野拉宽,请相信,中高考是信度,效度,极高的题目,答案唯一性,不会出现模棱两可的答案。 That is to say, 答案周围一定有充分的信号句或者短语提示我们选对答案。
几个小Tips: 若段落首句设句,并且是主题句的话,请关注后续的2句或者后面的举例情况。若仍不能找到答案,请关注下段首句,往往下个段落或者再下个段落首句会给出答案。
若某个空格一时无法确定,请不要盲目直接去填,
完形填空读懂脉络,文章逻辑很重要!

下面我们就通过实考真题来感受一下吧:

One topic is rarely mentioned in all the talk of improving standards in our schools: the almost complete failure of foreign-language teaching.      Most American schools have accepted what is inevitable and     63    modem languages, even Spanish, from the curriculum. Perhaps it is time for Britain to do the same, and stop     64    resources on a subject which few pupils want or need.

在考场中请重点关注冒号, 冒号起到解释说明的作用,之前内容只要大致知道在学校中什么标准比较少谈到应该就可以过关了冒号之后为该段核心内容, 为本段topic sentence

果然不出所料吧,后续用了一个例子来展开,对于例子,考场时间紧的情况下,请把重点放在主句上,I have some idea of why the failure is so total.至于法国研究生,教几年,迅速扫过,非主要信息,除非后文谈到,请勿多逗留。

首格55出现,而且在整个一长句中第二格也出现,不少学生开始恐慌, 请镇定, 看选项,55,是填连接词, 咱不怕,请比较主句和从句的关系, 主从句都说到一些faults, 而且从句还有信号词,several serious…. 也就是说以前有的一些faults, 现在还有一些更严重的,直接选择 IN addition to ,

56 是首段未句,还记得我刚才说得话吗?每一段是围绕一个中心意思展开的,首句的核心意思是the almost complete failure of foreign-language teaching.,空格处是还有几个XXXX,应该也是failure或者failure 的近义词,选项Aerror 正好符合此意,选上。如果不确定,请重读several, 下段首句the first is ,再下段首句,出现了 another important error…更加确定就是error .

57首句设空,第一个要去消除的是教授XX英语的课程。(topic sentence )还记得前文讲过的,首句设空,支持句会有足够的提示。
后句迅速扫过,大致了解,人们不知道什么句子,过去现在,将来的差异,根据选项,判断出来是C语法

一句长句,3个空,大家别吓懵了,做题方法如前,58格,关注到之前有or信号词,A or B一般意思相同或接近,找or 之前 mix-ability 混合能力,就是说各个水平的学生都混在一起,所以,被教学生的能力很广泛,选 wide ,

59,考察短语,有能力的学生,把选项带入,受到限制,(hold back),(无法发挥它们的潜力), 因而感到无聊,

60 考察副词,然而能力比较差的学生,(因为听不懂)而迷失了,因而,代入选项,同样感到无聊。
