之前记录了一些新概念中最常出现的两种动物：猫和狗
今天来讨论一些除了cat和dog以外的其他动物习语：
一、与“DUCK”有关的习语和词组
1、 like water off a duck’s back (尤指批评)不起作用，对牛弹琴。
Their hints about his behaviour were like water off a duck’s back. 他们示意他举止不当，如同对牛弹琴。
2、 a dead duck 被放弃或将失败的事物。
The plan is a dead duck: there is no money. 计划告吹了，因为没有钱。
3、 a lame duck 处于困境无法自理的人，组织或事物。
The government should not waste money supporting lame ducks.政府不应浪费资金去扶持那些无前景的企业。
二、与“BIRD” 有关的习语和词组
1、 a little bird told me that... 我听说 (但我不告诉你我是怎么知道的)。
A little bird told me that you had been caught cheating in the English exam. 我听说你英语考试时作弊被逮到了。
2、 like a bird 运转良好。
My new car goes like a bird. 我的新车行驶自如。
3、 a home bird 喜欢呆在家里的人。
He is a real home bird. He seldom takes part in the social events. 他老是呆在家里，很少出去参加社交活动。
三、与其它动物有关的习语和词组
1、 monkey business 骗人的把戏，恶作剧。
There’s been some monkey business going on here. 有人在这里搞鬼。
2、 a bear-hug 紧紧地搂住。
3、 parrot-fashion 鹦鹉学舌般地
If you learn English parrot-fashion, you’ll never know what English is. 如果你只是死记硬背英语，你将永远学不会英语。
4、 have a frog in one’s throat 失音或嗓音嘶哑。
5、 run with the hare and hunt with the hounds 两面都讨好。
