昂立外语【新概念培训】分享important是“重要的”意思，但每次翻译句子或者是写作文，表达“重要的”这个意思时，总是只想到这么一个词，未免有些单调了。其实我们新概念英语中学到好几个表示“重要的”单词，大家可以活学活用，增加自己作文里的词汇量，也能提升作文分数哦~

1. important

Lesson 12 Goodbye and good luck

He will take part in an important race across the Atlantic.

我们真为他感到自豪，他将参加一次重大的横渡大西洋的比赛。

important较普通，强调某事值得重视，最为常用。

2. big

Lesson 3 Please send me a card

On the last day I made a big decision.

到了最后一天，我作出了一项重大决定。

big这个词其实也有“重要的”意思，但这个词因为太简单而经常被忽视。可以用在一些词组里，如 big problem ; make a big decision等

3. serious

Lesson 43 Over the South Pole

Though, at first, Byrd and his men were able to take a great many photographs of th

e mountains that lay below, they soon ran into serious trouble.

虽然开始时伯德和他的助手们拍下了飞机下面连绵群山的大量照片，但他们很快就陷入了困

境。

Lesson 62 After the fire

Winter was coming on and the hills threatened the surrounding villages with destruc

tion, for heavy rain would not only wash away the soil but would cause serious flood

s as well.

冬季即将来临，这些山丘对周围的村庄具有毁灭性的威胁，因为大雨不仅会冲走土壤，而且还

会引起严重的水灾。

从上两篇课文可看出，serious表示“严重的”“严肃的”“危急的”，一般是指问题、灾

等的严重性，不表示一般性的重要。

4.significant

e.g. But there are significant differences between the two.  

但是，这两者之间存在显著的差异。

significant表示“重大的”、“显著的”，一般表示该事物非常突出且有优越性。

5.vital

e.g. To young people , job opportunities are very vital 

工作机会对于年轻人最为重要。

vital表示“至关重要的”、“生死攸关的”，所以它的程度最高。

总结：vital的重要程度最高，significant则表示重要程度有一定的优越性，而important最

常用也最普通。big可以用在词组中，比较简单。而serious则表示“严重的”，和其他词有

一定意思上的区别。
