昂立外语【新概念培训】各位分享bank，coast，shore的辨析：

bank 通常指“河岸”或“湖岸”等，有较大的坡度，含有“堤”的意思。

一般不用来指“海岸”。

e.g. The town stands on the left bank of the river. 城镇位于河的左岸。

coast 指“海岸”、“海岸线”等，属地理用词，它主要指远处看到的海洋与陆地的分界线，或把这一分界线当作一个整体来看待。

经常看地理类纪录片的同学应该对它并不陌生，镜头拉得远远的，沿着海岸线快速移动，再配上优美浓厚的英音：

‘There are many islands off the England coast…’ 

英国海岸有很多岛屿……

通常只能指“海岸”，不指湖岸或河岸。

e.g. He is going to live by the coast for the sake of his health. 

       他为了自己的健康，打算到海滨地区去居住。

shore 指水与陆地交界的“岸”，是一个较为笼统的说法，既可以包括 beach，也可以指突兀或陡峭的岸边，它往往有较强烈的与“水”相对的意味。

可以指“海岸”、“湖岸”、“河岸”等。

e.g. Let’s go for a walk along the shore. 咱们沿岸边去散步吧。
