   著名电影《狮子王 The Lion King》中有一句经典台词：

I'll make it up to you, I promise.

我会补偿你的，我保证。

这句话中的make是动词，构成词组make up，解释为“弥补”。另外，make up还有化妆的意思，如 I don't like to see women making up in public.
