Today there are few homes that do not have a television set. Television has become an essential part of our daily life. Viewers can choose between different channels a wide rage of entertainment, and get instructed in many fields of interest. One survey showed that the average person spent three hours a day watching television. Housewives were the biggest group of viewers.

Since its appearance, TV has had a tremendous effect on the daily life of people everywhere. For families with children a major problem is getting the children away from the television to their homework. In addition, although there may not be any hard proof that violence on television causes people to commit crimes, there is reason to suspect that such programming is potentially harmful. Anyway, if a child sees murder on television every day, he will think it natural for people to kill in real world.

To find out the impact television has on people’s lives, not only its bad effects on children, an unusual experiment was carried out recently. A group of families were asked to keep away from television for one month. The families were studied to see how their lives were affected by not being able to watch TV during this period.
