The Advantages of learning a foreign language

Learning a foreign language is rewarding to me. I myself have already learnt English as my first foreign language and I personally think mastering a foreign language is a growing trend in China. I would like to support my idea in the following ways.

First of all, it’s no longer rare to see University students making conversations in a foreign language. The reasons are obvious. As globalization is deepening in China, an increasing number of foreign-owned companies are setting up branch offices and factories in China and willing to offer a higher pay for their employees.

Besides, many college students pay much attention to mastering a foreign language which will give them a competitive edge over other job applicants to get a good job.

Moreover, thanks to learning a foreign language, people can have a better understanding of the culture in a foreign country. The reason is simple. It’s hard to appreciate the unique culture to a country without understanding the language used.

All in all, mastering a foreign language is not only rewarding but also promising in the long run.
