Phuket

There are many tropical island paradises in the world, but Phuket continues to rate high right up there as one of the very best. Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, approximately (大约，将近) the size of Singapore, situated off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea (安达曼海) and the island is connected to mainland Thailand by a bridge. Planning your holiday to coincide with (与……一致，符合) one of Phuket’s many events and festivals could make all the difference between a good holiday and a really memorable one. There are important events scattered (分散) through the year. Songkran (泼水节) , in April, is the Thai New Year but is also an excuse for a huge water fight. While in November Loi Krathong (水灯节) is a more subdued (减弱的，减轻的) but magical festival.
