In today’s fast-paced life, it is not uncommon for consumers to choose online shopping when considering buying items. Packaging of online items has always been evolving, and some packages are of high quality with astounding effects, which are considered excessive.

The main reason why excessive packaging is so popular lies in the fact that the trend of online shopping is consequently breeding an increasing number of online shops, making the competition much fiercer than ever. And packaging has become a new way for them to attract customers. Another possible reason is that some fragile items are likely to be damaged on the way. In order to remain items undamaged to the greatest extent, shopkeepers have to figure out effective measures, and many of them resort to excessive passaging. Convenient and impressive as it is, the rapid growth of excessive packaging has given rise to large amounts of rubbish. Last year alone, 16.95 billion meters of adhesive tape and 9.9 billion boxes were used to deliver the purchases of online shoppers.

The best way to solve this problem, I think, is to set up a feasible recycle system. Customers should be encouraged to return used packages to express delivery services by getting some benefits from doing so. All in all, we should realize the harmful effect of excessive packaging and try everything to keep it from spreading.
