Recently, a survey has been conducted by an Internet Consumer Research Center to compare the reasons and worries for online shopping.

As it can be seen from the bar chart, 49 percent of people choose online shopping due to its abundant supply of commodities. It is almost three times as many as people who prefer online shopping because they believe the Internet can create a shopping environment free from limits of time and space. In addition, 38 percent of people maintain that compared with traditional form of purchasing, online shopping tends to have more advantages in price. That is the reason why they are fond of online shopping.

 Different people have different reasons for choosing online shopping. Similarly, people’s concerns about online shopping also vary a lot. As is revealed in the pie chart, more than half of people claim that they are not sure if they will be satisfied with the quality of goods they are planning to buy. Indeed, though online shopping has become a popular consuming habit and lifestyle, there is no denying that online shopping does have some risks. You will be so annoyed if what you buy is totally different from what you want. And what’s worse is that if you want to exchange or refund, some extra money will be spent. All in all, in my opinion, despite these shortcomings, we should not give up eating for fear of choking. After all, the advantages of online shopping far outweigh its disadvantages.

With the development of science and technology, online shopping has become an indispensable part of most people’s daily life. Folks choose to shop online due to various reasons and they have different concerns when it comes to this issue. Recently, a survey has been conducted by an Internet research center on consumers’ behavior of online shopping, which is shown in the two charts.

According to the first chart, people prefer to shop online because of three main reasons. First, online shopping provides consumers with a wide array of commodities. Nowadays, almost anything is available online, and even something that is not for sale in supermarkets can be found via taobao.com. Second, the prices of the goods are generally lower in comparison to those in physical stores. As for a housewife, for example, a large amount of money can be saved on an annual basis if she decides to purchase online. Third, consumers can practically shop online whenever and wherever they like. As long as they have at hand a smartphone or a laptop with access to the Internet, they are free to enter a world where commodities can be delivered to their homes and all they have to do is just a few taps on the screen or a few clicks of the mouse.

However, apart from its merits, people surveyed did demonstrate their worries through the survey. As is shown in the second chart, the quality of the commodities is the primary concern of over half of the consumers. They claim that some items fail to live up to the advertisements online. Moreover, some even regard what they have bought online as completely worthless. In my opinion, consumers need to be more rational in terms of online shopping. They ought to review the comments of the commodity and consider its utility before they finally make up their minds to place the order.
