just as…so…句型的用法

just as…as…是英语中一个有用句型，归纳起来，有以下三种用法：

用法一：表示“正如……，……也……”“……就像……一样”。如：

Just as French people enjoy their wine, so the British enjoy their beer. 英国人喜欢啤酒就如法国人喜欢嗜酒一样。

用法二：表示“随着……，……也……”，第一分句用 as，第二分句用 so引导。发生在第二个分句的情况在一定程度上取决于发生在第一个分句情况，而且两种情况同时发生。如：

As the cost of keeping money in the bank increases, so it’s spent faster. 随着在银行存钱的费用增加，人们的钱花得也更快了。

As the genetic secrets of muscle growth unfold, so the prospects for genetically manipulating muscle fibres improve. 随着肌肉生长的遗传奥秘的揭开，在遗传上控制肌肉纤维的前景也就更好。

用法三：用于 As A is to B, so C is to D 这样的形式，意思是“C之于D，犹如A之于B”。如：

As soul is to a body, so is love [so love is] to a home. 爱之于家庭犹如灵魂之于身体。

As unselfishness is the real test of strong affection, so unselfishness ought to be the real test of the very highest kind of art. 正如无私是钟爱的真正考验，无私也是最高艺术的真正考验。

补充一：该句式还有以下变体或相似表达：

A is to B as C is to D  A之于B，犹如C之于D。如：

Air is to man as water is to fish. 空气之于人犹如水之于鱼。

Water is to fish as air is to men. 水之于鱼，犹如空气之于人。

Parks are to the city as lungs are to the body. 公园之于都市，正如肺之于人。

A is to B what C is to D  A之于B，犹如C之于D。如：

Air is to us what water is to fish. 我们离不开空气，就像鱼儿离不开水一样。

Engines are to machines what hearts are to animals. 发动机对机器之关系犹如心脏对动物之关系。

Reading is to the mind what food is to the body. 读书与思想的关系就好比食物与健康的关系。

What blood vessel is to a man’s body, railway is to transportation. 铁路对于运输犹如血管对于人体一样重要。

An individual is to a country what a screw is to a machine. 一个人对于国家的作用，犹如螺丝钉对于机器同等重要。

补充二：关于 as…so…的倒装句式

as…so…有时可用倒装形式，但通常as…so too…这样的形式出现。如：

As society changes, so too do the illnesses. 随着社会的变化，各种疾病也在变化。

As google grows, so too do its antitrust issues. 随着谷歌的不断发展，它的反垄断争端也在增加。

As our cities grow, so too must our transit system. 随着我们的城市的发展，我们的运输系统也必须发展。

As global temperatures rise, so too do health risks. 随着全球气温的升高，对人们的健康危害也在加大。

As bike traffic increases, so too the livability of Bozeman. 随着自行车交通的增加，博兹曼的宜居性也在增加。

As the European economy collapses, so too does Apple's market share in smartphones. 随着欧洲经济的衰退，苹果在智能手机方面的市场占有率也在衰退。

As trade and business links between our two nations expand, so too will face-to-face contact between Chinese and American citizens, exchanges of ideas, and transfers of technology. 随着两国贸易商务关系的扩大，中美两国人民的直接接触、观点交流和技术转移也将增加。

值得注意的是，这类倒装主要是so too 的原因，而非as…so…句型的原因，因为so too引起的倒装句有时并不是与as…句子同时使用。如：

If the benefits of urban renewal are extensive, so too are the costs. 如果说城市更新好处很大，那么其费用也会很大。

When exams were invented so too was revision, but two inventions have transformed the way we prepare. 自从发明了考试，同时也就发明了复习，但两项发明改变了我们准备考试的方法。

Deflation is scary. So too is a policymaker in a blind panic. 通货紧缩是可怕的，盲目恐慌中的决策者也是可怕的。

其实，这类倒装可视为so do I, so doe he, so am I, so is he等的变体。
