昂立外语【新概念培训】跟大家分享shot这个小词，在新二Lesson 95 A fantasy中有这样一句话：
Someone fired a shot through my office window.
有人向我办公室窗户开了一枪。
我们课文中的shot的意思是an act of firing a gun射击，根据上下文小朋友们也能判断出它的意思。这个义项并不陌生，那shot还有什么常用的但不为人所知的解释呢？在2010年的时候，美国乡村乐队Lady Antebellum发行了一首红遍全球的Need you now，我们一起来看一下在这首歌歌词中出现的shot又是什么意思~

在这里的shot显然是不能解释为射击或者子弹的啦，其实我们根据语境并不难发现，shot在这边起到了量词的作用，用来修饰whiskey威士忌，在webster上有这样一条释义，很好的阐释了这里shot的用法：a small measure or serving (as one ounce) of undiluted liquor or other beverage一小杯，而且往往是烈性酒或未稀释过的饮品。shot居然还有这样的含义，是不是有点出乎意料呢~
