昂立外语【新概念培训】分享的小词lie,今天我们来看看lie的有趣用法吧。lie是中考考纲单词，两种词性，意思颇多，变化错综复杂，有“躺下，坐落，说谎，放置”同学们印象中好像还有“下蛋”是不是？怎一个晕字了得？今天我们一起来总结一下：
作为动词，lie主要有两方面含义：
1.躺下；位于… lie-lay-lain-lying
在Webster字典中的解释为：
a. of a person or animal or of things : to be in a flat position on a surface (such as a bed)
eg. The doctor asked him to lie on the bed.
即：（人）躺着；(物)落在低处
She likes to lie on the grass to enjoy the sunshine with her pet dog.
她喜欢和她的爱犬躺在草地上沐浴阳光。（图）
Snow lay thick on the ground。
雪铺落在地上。

地上积着厚厚的雪，女人知道最近的村庄在几英里以外。

的木头金属碎片，他难过地捡起床垫抬回了房间。
（这里lay是lie的过去式）
tips:人躺着，那么将建筑物想象成也“躺在”某处，自然翻译成“位于，坐落于”的含义，不难发现这两个动词含义想通。可联想记忆。

在Webster字典中的解释为：
to say or write something that is not true in order to deceive someone :
说谎
lie to sb. 对某人撒谎
eg.
I can't believe you lied to me.
我无法相信你对我撒了谎。
She was lying when she told her parents that she had spent the afternoon studying.
她告诉父母着急整个下午都在学习是在撒谎。
lie作为名词，译为“谎言”(C)

something untrue that is said or written to deceive someone
