六级考试的深度阅读与四级相比,词汇量更大,句式更复杂,故对考生的综合理解能力提出了更高的要求。题目侧重考察考生对文章的整体把握能力,直接从文章中找到答案的题目趋于减少。基于这种命题趋势,对备战2010年6月份的六级考生来说,以下几个实用技巧可以帮助你迅速提高至少20分。
(1) 对文章信息的“重新包装”(paraphrase)
大部分干扰选项的特点是以偏概全,借题发挥,实则与文章本意出入较大。正确答案多为原文的“重新包装”,是对原文的阐释(paraphrase)。故考生可以牢记“照抄原文的不是答案,paraphrase的是正解”。
(2) 找准句子主干
长难句多为出题的焦点。主干以外的修饰成分往往让考生如坠五里云雾,无法识别句子真正的的S.V.O.。这时需要读懂句子,分清主要成份,正确作答。如How does global warming affect the survival of turtles?
A. It threatens the sandy beaches on which they lay eggs.
B. The changing climate makes it difficult for their eggs to hatch.

黑体标注部分为句子主干。主语 the beach + 谓语 are + squeezed (原本并不宽敞的沙滩变得更为拥挤)。其中 on which… 为定语从句修饰beach,而on one side 和on the other 为并列介词短语表原因。所以纵观四个选项,A选项抓住了句子的主干意思。其他选项只是针对修饰成分所做的干扰。
(3) 插入语等修饰成分跳过不看
那么如何快速理解一个长句子而抓住主干成分呢?其他修饰性的枝叶部分,尤其很多用逗号隔开的插入语统统略去不看。如:
